What the HELL is this? (repost)

Competitive gaming is a topic that can make most traditional sports fans roll their eyes. But with ease of access that every major league is jealous of, a massive casual and hardcore fan base, and global popularity that rivals soccer, the idea that E-Sports can be a successful long-term industry isn’t a dream anymore. Gone are the days when DOTA was the only game that could gather any kind of financial support. Rainbow 6, Overwatch, Rocket League, Call of Duty, Counter Strike, Fifa, World of Warcraft, and a Zillion more games boast leagues and tournaments world-wide. This is a digital age, and being able to brush off gaming as a fad, or dismiss players as nerds isn't enough to stop the tidal wave of growth.

In 2019, E-Sports generated over a Billion dollars in revenue, (according to Newzoo). Now, I’m not a Big Journo, and am not particularly interested in finance, so writing about the absorbent amount of money the leagues make, is not interesting to me at all. What does catch my eye are two things…Legalized sports betting, and watching the most insane competitive Rainbow 6 players in the world.

As a disclaimer, I work a full-time job. Following a 4 regions of the R6 Pro-League, watching every match, breaking down match-ups, and doing my best to provide insightful analysis is going to be a battle. That said I was always taught to make time for the things you love, and with that in mind I am going to be doing my best to publish weekly blogs. If you have read this far, thank you so much. If your interested, keep following, and I will just keep aimlessly writing until this thing actually gets good.
